The Las Vegas skyline has a new addition. An observation wheel built by Caesers Entertainment located where the old O'Shea's Casino was, next to Flamingo. The Linq includes shopping, gaming, dining, and drinking at the new O'Shea's pub. It also boasts the observation wheel (not ferris wheel) on site, which is able to hold almost 20 people per cart up in the desert skies. The 550 ft. high roller is the world's largest observation wheel (50 feet over the Eye in London). People are directed to call -800-Caesars for more details. You may also visit thelinq.com.

As I walked into the Pandora Lounge in Las Vegas, I saw a mild-mannered mix of audience loungers distributed throughout the place while the band was on break. Some were playing Wii bowling, while waiting for their second of three sets from local talents the "Franks & Deans". An homage to earlier lounge greats, the band calls themselves the "Punk Rock Rat Pack", and rightly so. The band are made up of Rob DeTie (bass, singer, band leader), PIP (drums), Tyler Newton (rhythm guitar) and eldest member still in his early 30's and married, Hoss (guitar,vocals) (Hard Rock Las Vegas, Reverend Horton Heat crew).

I first worked with Whitney Streed in Portland, Oregon during 2009-11. A degree holding almost 30-something transplant from Colorado Springs, CO., Streed weaves puns in and out of self-deprecating gender confusion jokes. Her ability to room-read is fairly unparalleled and she's amassed a sizable list of comedian friends for any booking occasion. She's also played family and conservative rooms in the regions, including Applebee's, where she got a check to tell jokes while people ate. The mental games and exercises in writing are something she's been doing for five years plus, but she first had a career in editing text books before moving to Oregon in the 2000's. Now doing adult care to make it all work, Streed hosts her own comedy night, travels out of region, and has credits on Portlandia, U.S. Comedy Festivals, and her set time is growing stronger and longer. A comedian's comedian, a writer and funny person, here is what the Whit had to tell me is happening for her now and upcoming in the land of Port.
